Games For Grown Ups

Whether you are a bachelor with a nice pad and elegant style or if you are a couple who is going to have the relatives over because they have stopped in town, you are going to need some way to entertain your guests. A lot of people will try to break the ice with alcohol and sophisticated conversation.

That is a great way to do it, but the alcohol is going to be disadvantageous in the long run and causes kidney problems. Sophisticated conversation is nice, but a lot of people are not going to use it as an ice breaker, that is just one of the unfortunate truths about society.

Perhaps in other countries that is how they relax and get to know each other, with a little chat about existentialism or new-naturalism. Here in America, however, that is conversation saved only for scholarly journals written by professors of philosophy.

Since alcohol is not going to be totally appropriate for your relatives and sophisticated conversation is rather boring, what are you going to do to entertain your guests? Take out the old hungry hungry hippos?

Don't play the games your child is playing, that will reflect poorly on you and make people think that you yourself are a child, plus it could make your child mad. Get a good game that is appealing to an adult demographic.

A great game for adults is two truths one lie. It sounds kind of childish, but you get to show off your creativity and your life experiences, so it really is an adult game because it is the players that make it interesting.

You have two people to a turn. One person will state two facts about themselves and then one lie.

It is then the other players turn to guess which one was a lie and which two are true. The player doesn't have to say this one and this one are true, because obviously if they choose the correct statement as a lie then the other two are true by simple logical reasoning and the power of deduction.

So, for example one player might say something like, "back in 95 a llama got in a fight with a wolf-dog, in third grade recess was canceled because of a mountain lion, and once while lying on a trampoline a feral wolf came and sniffed my sleeping back." The other player would have to pick which was a lie.

Everyone would congratulate the speaker on his great creative situations, which by the way are all true. Ha, that is a trick, and in game play that would be considered illegal, but the host is allowed to do it without any major repercussions.
