Wondering What You Can Do With An IPad? Start Here!

By Richie Mose

There are lots of great features to an iPad. Maybe you still have a lot to learn about it, and it's high time to begin. You have to learn all you can about the stupendous things this tablet can do. Read below to find out how.

Are you sick of typing all of the time? Give your dictation option a try. Find the microphone symbol, tap it, and say what you want and then tap the microphone icon once more. The second time converts to text, which is a very convenient feature for you to use.

Do you dislike having Google as your iPad's search engine? It's easy to change to another search engine. Go to your Settings menu select Safari, then Search Engine. Pick another search engine from that list. Bing, Yahoo and Google are the choices which can be selected.

Even if you think this is unnecessary, it is wise to add a security feature to your iPad. If you were to lose your iPad, all kinds of personal information would be in the hands of others.

Swiping doesn't work in the Calendar app. To look at a certain date, try using the navigation bar that is near the bottom of your screen. The current day is marked in blue and should be easy to notice.

Enable the feature entitled Find My iPad, which will allow you to retrieve a lost or misplaced unit. This will make it so that if your iPad is lost or stolen you can find it using its internal GPS system or even delete information from it instantly if need be. It may seem annoying now, however you will be grateful if the iPad is ever lost.

To copy and paste when using an iPad, tap, then hold down the text you are interested in. Then pick Select. Once you've done this, you'll need to press 'copy', go to a different app, and press and hold again. A menu will pop up and you should tap on paste. You can also highlight a whole paragraph; tap it around four times.

Apple is good about not loading your new iPad with a bunch of junk third-party apps. They do pre-load many of their own tools including music, maps, iTunes, and Newsstand. Since these apps are part of the OS, they can't be removed. For convenience's sake, move any of these apps out of your iPad's main work area. This lets you focus on the ones you use most.

The iPad has single-handedly revolutionized the way millions use technology every day. With so many features and applications, the possibilities of this device are nearly endless. By heeding the advice in the article above, you will soon see that the possibilities of the iPad are nearly limitless.
